We took another one on the chin last night as 99 restaurant downed us 13-3. There were plenty of defensive errors to go around, but also a few highlights. Nate McCarroll continued doing a great job behind the plate. Jimmy Morrison made 2 highlight reel plays at short stop. The gem of the night was the pitching perfomances of our 2 Andrews…. First we went with our Big Man. Andrew DiNovo tossed a great game with only one walk. He threw strikes and challenged the 99 batters.

Andrew Shaw came in for a relief appearance and had a great two innings. Andrew Shaw can be counted on to go right after hitters and field his position very well. Andrews 6 outs included 2 pop flys that he caught and a strike out. At the plate Andrew Shaw gave the fans a real treat with a bunt to lead off an inning that was surely a hit as Andrew beat the throw to first and started off a productive inning. In the old days it was Kevin Shaw who led so many Vellano rallies leading off innings. There is something electric about the Shaw Brothers and beating out throws to first.

Dunkin Satterlee left a party in Saratoga NY to make the game, and his teammates really appreciated it.

The most improved at bats of the night go to Michael Monthie and Patrick Hilt. They both went deeper into counts and eliminated called strikes. These two guys have put in extra time in the batting cages and it is showing.

Saturday we have the honor of supporting the Challengers game and taking on Daily Gazette.
